Motherhood is a journey that brings joy, love, and fulfillment to our lives. However, it can also be a challenging and overwhelming experience, especially when unexpected health complications arise. As a mother who has personally experienced the life-threatening HELLP syndrome and the debilitating postpartum anxiety (PPA), I know firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate these health challenges while taking care of a newborn.
During my journey, I realized that many parents face similar challenges and struggles, but not everyone has access to the information and resources they need to overcome them. That’s why I decided to start this blog to share my story and help other parents who might be going through a similar experience.
In this blog, I will be sharing my personal experience of dealing with HELLP syndrome and PPA and how I overcame these challenges. I’ll also be providing helpful tips, resources, and support to help other parents as well.
I also happen to absolutely adore gardening, so if you’re looking for gardening tips and how-to’s, you’ve come to the right place!
I hope that by sharing my story and providing valuable information, I can help other parents find the strength and resources they need to navigate their own journeys successfully. Together, we can support each other through the ups and downs of parenthood and create a community of empowered and informed parents.
What is HELLP syndrome?
HELLP stands for hemolysis (the destruction of red blood cells), elevated liver enzymes and low platelet count. This severe form of preeclampsia affects several organ systems. HELLP syndrome is life-threatening to the mother and baby, and it may cause lifelong health problems for the mother.
Signs and symptoms include nausea and vomiting, headache, upper right belly pain, and a general feeling of illness or being unwell. Sometimes, it develops suddenly, even before high blood pressure is detected. It also may develop without any symptoms.
